Fair

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I went to the fair yesterday. I felt like a kid again. We did my favorite ride as a kid, it’s called the Wild Mouse. It doesn’t go the fastest or spin the most, but it is easily the scariest ride in the fair. It honestly feels like your cart is going to jump off the tracks. Even at 26 I was gripped. Here’s one photo from the moment just before boarding the sketchiest ride ever.

KRAZY

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Tonight I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery, where I saw a show about comics, graphic novels, cartoons, etc., essentially pop culture stuff without computers. But, before I get into the shots, I must apologize, as I’m sure I wasn’t allowed to take photos so I had to be sneaky, and thus some aren’t the best. Regardless, there was some great work there, most of which I was too scared to take a picture of for fear of being kicked out, so the shots are limited.

One of my favorites at the show was a guy named Chris Ware. Check this out. Done for This American Life. Also one of my favorites.

Crazy with a K.

killbillguy

I’m pretty sure this is the dude who animated the stuff in Kill Bill 1. That animated scene… you know the one. Anyway. I missed his name. But great work. Lots of glare makes this shot bad and doesn’t do it justice.

dolls

if i ever have a kid i’m getting him/her the doll on the left with the chainsaw. how’s the blood dripping from it…

There was a huge head. Krazy.

Mike and Helen

Monday, August 11th, 2008

This weekend I flew up to a town called Dawson Creek. It’s in northern BC, my cousin Mike married his long time girlfriend and threw a super fun party. It was cool to see some of my family again… its been a while.

They’re really into dinosaurs up there. I guess lots of them were found around that place. This t-rex footprint was in the airport. It made me feel like a kid again, being stoked on dinos.

Songs

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Some stuff I’ve been listening to lately. Its been some time since I did a playlist.

The Bon Iver song is one of the most beautiful I’ve heard in a long time. Amazing.

And the rest. well I hope you like them too. I do. I had some other stuff on here but it really didn’t suit the mood. Been listening to a lot of Ed Banger stuff lately. I’ll do a post in that genre in the next while. As for now. Guitars with mellow tempos.

Bon Iver ‘Skinny Love’

Band of Horses ‘Is There A Ghost’

Smog ‘A Hit’

Joy Division ‘Shadowplay’
