Lance

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

The Tour is over. But after all the scandal of recent years and the lack of an American superstar it seems that no one cares. But regardless. Congrats must go to Carlos Sastre for winning. And here a little clip from Nike which makes me want to go out and ride. Damn Nike’s good at making commercials. And here’s to Lance. On drugs or not, the man kills it. Harder than most of us ever will. Without cancer.

Days Off

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Last week I finished coaching at COC. So, I took some time off. Got away from the computer for a bit. Went boating in Vancouver and felt like a complete tourist in my home town it was rad. Then I headed to Tofino to surf a bit, and do a couple days of camping… and check out ‘Stack Footy’ by Think Thank. my friend Sean who’s in a bunch of these photos helped make it and it’s retarded.

watershed

This random building is on the side of the inlet we went up. It’s an old watershed that was used for Vancouver back in the day. Now it’s just waiting for the sequel of Blair Witch to be shot there…

shaunfunny

We climbed some rocks to check out a waterfall, Sean looking real awkward.

shaunrockslide

We slid down the waterfall on out butts. This is Sean.

And then I went to Tofino to camp and surf, didn’t really shoot too many photos…

meatdinner

I read ed tempelton’s blog all the time. He’s always posting shit about the vegan food he’s eating etc etc. He gets all preachy and i hate it. So here’s to him. Our ground beef dinner. With aluminum foil.

Iyengar

Monday, July 14th, 2008

“Change leads to disappointment if it is not sustained. Transformation is sustained change, and it is achieved through practice.”
-B.K.S. Iyengar

I’m reading Iyengar’s “Light on Life” right now. My life has been really hectic and overwhelming at points over the past 8 months (hence the lack of blog posts), and this book has been a source of clarity as of late. I’d recommend reading it if you have the time.

Laughing

Friday, July 11th, 2008

this made me laugh my ass off. it’s so true it’s funny. the endless search for the authentic, in our globalized world… come to think of it where does Joystick fit in? Are we still authentic? And what about those stupid Afghan/Palestinian/Mid East scarfs everyone and their mini dog is wearing. God. Can you stop it please? That was so last year anyway.
