COC

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Today was the second day of Joystick week at COC… It’s been rad up there, shredding with the team together is a cool sight. I’m so hyped on how each rider on the team is totally unique and brings such cool shredding to the table. I’m going to try and make a short edit from this week to document the antics. Here’s a couple quick shots from today.

Premier

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

We’re having a premier for the Joystick film “Hot Lunch”. I’m real excited about it… so, if you’re in Whistler on June 26th, come to the Village 8 Cinemas (just by Earls in the Village) at 5PM. A bunch of the Joystick team riders will be there… and we’re showing the film for free so please come and check it out. I’d be stoked to see you.

Thinking

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

So, part of the reason for quitting facebook was so I would spend that time updating this site. Rather than performing some type of vain mental self masturbation on that website, if i’m going to waste my time in a vain manner, it might as well be on here.

But the quitting facebook feels like a result of something more… maybe a need for actually real connections not just short little emails on notes on some online ‘community’, i think we lack human interaction in our society. with text messaging, facebook, email, it’s a wonder people even SPEAK never mind meet face to face… I think that’s why i’m not posting as frequently on here. I have no appeal. I have no reason to disseminate my over consuming, under contributing, environmental burden of an existence. It’s been feeling more like a marketing tool and less of a true blog/outlet lately. I haven’t really been posting for the true reasons i should. I’ll figure it out. But i’m thinking of taking a break from this for a while. We’ll see.

Getting close to finishing the Joystick Film. It’s fun. I’m excited for everyone to see it.

Listen to the Pixies. They’re great.

This is what Kurt Cobain has to say about them if you don’t trust me (referencing when he wrote ‘Teen Spirit’),

“I was trying to write the ultimate pop song. I was basically trying to rip off the Pixies. I have to admit it (smiles). When I heard the Pixies for the first time, I connected with that band so heavily I should have been in that band – or at least in a Pixies cover band. We used their sense of dynamics, being soft and quiet and then loud and hard.”

Timeless Beauty

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Science of Sleep is amazing. I think it’s becoming my favorite movie.

Charlotte Gainsbourg is in SOS. And last night while watching it I really realized how beautiful she is. In this era of Paris Hilton’s and 15 seconds of fame obsessions… it’s not really that hard to stand out, but this girl really stands apart from the crowd.

and, i closed my motherfucking facebook account. It’s about time…

He’s fucking funny that’s for sure. ‘blind eyes can look at me and see the truth, wonder if Stevie do…’
